Garage Sale &
Free Community Lunch!

Lafayette Community Garage Sales are being held this year on Friday, September 23rd and Saturday, September 24th. Zion has chosen to participate in this event on Saturday, September 24th. We will also be providing a free lunch to the community on that day. Our purpose in doing so is to not have this event  be about making money as it is to ministering to the needs of the underserved in our community and surrounding area. We will have a uniform price of 25 cents on all sale items. Please keep this in mind when donating items.  Needed are household items, clothing, shoes, books, etc. Hopefully we will move items quickly and sell out. The garage sale hours are tentatively  from 9 am til 5pm. Tables will be organized and set up the day before. The tables will be arranged outside on the sidewalk on the day of the sale. In case of inclement weather: in the fellowship hall and lower narthex.

Our free lunch on Saturday will include the following:  sloppy joes, hot dogs (with all the condiments including onions and cheese for coney dogs), potato chips, relish tray, cookies and brownies.( Lemonade and water to drink.)  Lunch will be served from 11am til 2pm. 

In late August or early September sign up sheets will be posted at the church. We will need lots of volunteers to make sure everything flows smoothy. You may sign up for the day or just a few hours, whatever time you can spare. Will need: tables set up, merchandise arranged, tables carried out, table monitors, cashiers, food preparers and servers,  cookie and brownie bakers, dining room monitors  and a clean up crew.
